La empresa Volt acaba de lanzar VoltDB OLTP, un gestor de BBDD relacional de nueva generación. Es OpenSource y destaca la gestión de datos en memoria en vez de disco. VoltDBha demostrado que puede procesar transacciones 45 veces más rápido que MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL ..., unas 53.000 transacciones/s frente a las 1.155 de otros DBMS sobre hardware idéntico.
